We support directors and independent production companies in implementing distribution strategies and organising special event screenings across Italy, thanks to an established network of national and international partnerships.
The name
The name Studio Yubaba is inspired by Spirited Away by Hayao Miyazaki.
Yu means hot water, hot spring. Baba means witch. Literally, Yubaba can be translated as "Witch of the hot springs."
In the film, Yubaba is a powerful and complex figure who governs a space of transformation. We chose this name because it evokes a creative place where stories take shape through work, imagination and the ability to turn a vision into reality.
A desire to tell stories
Studio Yubaba was born from the meeting of professionals from film, television, writing, audiovisual production and cultural management, united by a shared desire to tell stories and shape collective imaginaries that build connections and promote the arts, people, places, businesses and regions.
